I’ve decided to start making lists for WIP Wednesday like some other people do. (And please forgive the iPhone pictures in this post!)
In Progress This Week
- Brayden’s baby clothes quilt – I’m delivering this on Saturday and I know Sarah (Brayden’s mom) has seen my blog before, so I don’t want to spoil the surprise. I will share the two “sneak peeks” I sent her yesterday:
- Mystery Quilt at Quilters Club of America – Directions are posted every Friday. Here are my fabric groupings:
Completed Projects Ready for Quilting
Completed Projects Ready for Binding
Ok I know it’s no longer Wednesday, but it was my birthday so I’m allowed a pass, right?
I’m in the home stretch of Brayden’s baby clothes quilt and wanted to show you a (really) rough draft of the top (sorry for the cell phone picture):
And a few letters I pieced for the back, spelling out his name:
I plan to have this done by Monday night, so I’ll post the completed quilt then.
Thanks for stopping by!
For WIP Wednesday, I have my Summer Sampler Series blocks to show you – I finally got around to finishing up the last 2 blocks in the series! (I apologize for the iPhone pictures in this post – I’ve misplaced my camera cord.) Here are all 12 blocks with the sashing pinned up on my design wall.
Be sure to see what everyone else is up to over at Freshly Pieced!
For WIP Wednesday, I have 6 blocks from the Summer Sampler Series quilt along to show:
Click “keep reading” below for close ups of the individual blocks!
Remember what I told you about our Labrador Dixie? I snapped this picture today as I was finishing my 6th block.
Rocky Road to Kansas
Dixie, my 2 1/2 year old chocolate Lab, loves
blankets anything that resembles a blanket. She’s often in my sewing room keeping me company and always manages to find some unfolded fabric or quilt top in process to nap on. Last night after shooing her off the backing for my Windowpane quilt, I decided to make a small quilt just for her.
I finished the top today and started preparing the binding, but haven’t gotten around to quilting it yet. I think she likes it already!
I’m linking up to these sites – check out what other people have been up to!
[Looking for my giveaway? It’s here.]
For WIP Wednesday, I have my windowpane quilt to show – this time it’s pieced and I’ve started playing with border ideas (as you can see on the left):
I’ve also started piecing squares for the backing – I’m still brainstorming on the pattern though.
Now the burning question: How should I quilt this? I’d love to hear any ideas you have!
Check out other people’s creations at one of these great sites!
Here’s my submission for W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced this week:
I’ve finished the 20 squares and decided on the layout but haven’t sewn it all together yet. It’s loosely based on this quilt and this quilt. I’ve posted close-ups of the fabric on flickr.

I’m less than 6 hours from” delivering” (sorry, I love a good pun!) the baby clothes quilt I’ve had in the works – all that’s left is to attach the binding to the back and tack down a few sleeves and collars on the shirts. The details are in my original post about the quilt. I’m linking up to “W.i.P. Wednesday” to show these pictures (please forgive the quality of these pictures – I snapped them with my iPhone). Here’s the front:
And the back (all I did was add the hospital blanket to an already pieced and quilted comforter):
I’ll post the final pictures later today! Don’t forget to check out other projects people have added for W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced – just click on the button below!
