I’ve decided to start making lists for WIP Wednesday like some other people do. (And please forgive the iPhone pictures in this post!)
In Progress This Week
- Brayden’s baby clothes quilt – I’m delivering this on Saturday and I know Sarah (Brayden’s mom) has seen my blog before, so I don’t want to spoil the surprise. I will share the two “sneak peeks” I sent her yesterday:
- Mystery Quilt at Quilters Club of America – Directions are posted every Friday. Here are my fabric groupings:
Completed Projects Ready for Quilting
Completed Projects Ready for Binding
My MIL Carole asked me to participate in a mystery quilt that is just starting on the Quilters Club of America website. You have to join to view the details, but it’s free to join. Carole’s sister Kathy is also going to join us in making this quilt!
I’m making a lap quilt version, so I had to pick 18 jelly roll strips and pick a background color that contrasts all of them. I chose white as my background and I’m using these fabrics:
Should be fun! Are you participating? Have you made a mystery quilt before?
Ok I know it’s no longer Wednesday, but it was my birthday so I’m allowed a pass, right?
I’m in the home stretch of Brayden’s baby clothes quilt and wanted to show you a (really) rough draft of the top (sorry for the cell phone picture):
And a few letters I pieced for the back, spelling out his name:
I plan to have this done by Monday night, so I’ll post the completed quilt then.
Thanks for stopping by!
I love getting comments on my posts, and I always try to reply via email. Is that how most of you and/or other bloggers you follow respond to comments? Should I respond via a comment on my own posts instead? Let’s say for instance someone leaves a comment asking what sewing machine I have or something that might be of interest to other readers – should I answer in a comment on my own post or privately via email?
Becky at The Barefoot Seamstress is throwing an unusual type of linky party right now called Hot Mess.
How fun is that? All you have to do is post your messy sewing or crafting room and you’re eligible for a $25 gift card to StitchSteals
! So here goes…this is my entry:
After I snapped these photos with my phone, I spent the entire day cleaning up this mess because our house is on the market and we have a showing tomorrow. Ugh!
Don’t judge me too harshly, ok?
For WIP Wednesday, I have my Summer Sampler Series blocks to show you – I finally got around to finishing up the last 2 blocks in the series! (I apologize for the iPhone pictures in this post – I’ve misplaced my camera cord.) Here are all 12 blocks with the sashing pinned up on my design wall.
Be sure to see what everyone else is up to over at Freshly Pieced!
Y’all. There I was…just minding my own business, catching up on other people’s blog posts in Google Reader, when I came across this post at Want It, Need it, Quilt!
Go ahead, click on the picture. You’ll be transported to The Bitchy Stitcher where you can buy your very own 2012 Quilter’s Shirtless Man and Spicy Burrito Calendar…an actual calendar of men holding quilts in one hand and a burrito (get your mind out of the gutter!) in another. Megan at The Bitchy Stitcher is freaking hilarious – here’s proof.
And if you’re wondering – yes, I did purchase one of these hysterical calendars. I even got one for my MIL Carole (a fellow quilter)! Carole, guess what’ll be in your Christmas stocking!
Here are the rest of the quilt pictures I took at “Georgia Celebrates Quilts” in Marietta, GA. (Click on the links under the pictures to see a larger picture.)
As promised, here are some of the beautiful quilts on display at “Georgia Celebrates Quilts” in Marietta, GA. (Click on the links under the pictures to see a larger picture.)
I’ll post the rest tomorrow!
Today my mother-in-law Carole and I are going to East Cobb Quilters’ Guild‘s quilt show “Georgia Celebrates Quilts” at Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta, GA! It runs until Sunday at 4pm. I’ll post some pictures later today.
